FRIDAY 24 SEPTEMBER 2021 UPDATE

We are in an escalating and ongoing outbreak situation with nearly 60 positive cases in school. Covid19 has taken hold in all year groups and we are being led by advice from the DfE and Health Protection Team.

Numerous staff have also tested positive, and we are reliant on supply agency staff; however, some of these staff have also now tested positive, and agencies are reporting that they have run out of staff, so we are operating on a skeletal staff and moving many staff around at very short notice. Please therefore understand that there are lots of unfamiliar adults in school, and that these adults are aware of the situation and have bravely put themselves on the front line.

Thank you for your support through this - you've been very accepting of a very difficult situation - hopefully we'll get through it soon!

As communicated to parents via email and Class Dojo, numerous measures are in place to contain the outbreak, including dropping children on the yard, social distancing and vacating as quickly as possible.

We have stopped external visitors from coming into school, and put additional measures in place for the classes most affected.

Teachers are sending work out via Class Dojo, so please do what you can with this once children are well enough. If you are keeping your children off because you are anxious about the situation but they are well, these absences will be unauthorised and work should be completed as set on Dojo.

Finally, please join us in mourning for everyone affected by the tragic events that occurred opposite school last weekend. We hold them close to our hearts in prayer and send our deepest sympathy to grieving families. Please find below a letter about this, and further information to help you to support your child at this very sad time.

Kind regards
